Volume 1 of 'Der Tiger' we introduce to you s.Pz.Abt.501, who saw combat in Tunisia, Russia, Poland and Germany.

In this first book, the tanks and crews are shown in the field, under maintenance, and after action. Arranged by timeline, place and sequence, images taken by photographers of the Propaganda companies and private photographs by members of the Abteilung, shows its:

• Formation in May 1942 – deployment to Tunisia (North Africa) at the end of November 1942      

• Reestablishment in September/October 1943 - despatched to the Eastern Front in December 1943

• Revitalisation and re-equipment with Tiger II - move to Poland in August 44 and the Reich
