Welcome to the big orange November 2025 edition of Airliner World, incorporating Airports of the World. Thirty years ago, on a wet and miserable November day, the first ever easyJet flight took to the skies from London/Luton, bound for Glasgow. Fast-forward three decades, and the airline has grown to become the biggest scheduled carrier in the UK and one of Europe’s biggest low-cost carriers. 

Kicking off our easyJet 30th anniversary special, the airline’s founder, Sir Stelio Haj-Ioannou, writes an exclusive foreword, explaining its origins, before Lee Cross delves into the carrier’s colourful and ground-breaking history. 

From easyJet’s past, to easyJet’s present and future, Thomas Haynes chats to the airline’s CEO, Kenton Jarvis, who gives his first magazine interview since taking the reins earlier this year. From Heathrow slots to the potential of the Chinese-built COMAC C919 appearing in easyJet’s iconic Pantone 021C orange, there’s a lot to talk about. 

Robert Veitch, meanwhile, catches up with Lahiru Ranasinghe to discuss the strategy for reaching net zero by 2050, and David Morgan, chief operating officer, to learn how easyJet is embracing AI to improve efficiency.
